Our Mission.

Love City Community Network (LCCN) was born in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma to meet an urgent communications gap and became a 501(c)(3) dedicated to reliable, resilient, affordable access for the St. John community. To that end, LCCN develops, operates, and maintains a resilient, high-availability internet network for the people of St. John—built to withstand disasters, support recovery, and serve daily life.

We serve our community by extending coverage and reliability with resilient communications infrastructure and power systems, keeping emergency links live and coordinated before, during, and after emergency events and increasing digital equity, support STEM learning, and local technical workforce pathways.

Implementation

We build capacity in the island’s connectivity to advance economic recovery, align with rural broadband efforts, deliveri disaster-resilient internet for homes, businesses, and special use cases, and prioritize power resilience at network sites.

Emergency Response

We protect life and safety by maintaining a disaster communications plan, setting up emergency aid stations, supporing St. John Rescue, providing local 911 assistance, and coordinating with federal, local, and NGO responders.

Social Responsibility

We support equity and opportunity by providing equitable access, collaborating with schools on STEM curriculum, and advancing workforce development and applied research with local partners.
