A MORE RESILIENT NETWORK

Updated: Nov 28, 2018

July 23, 2018

We had a busy weekend installing our first redundant link to Coral Bay and reinforcing our Lovango sector site. While there is still some tricky programming to test and implement before the link can go live we’re excited to announce this critical step for our hurricane-hardened network.

This link provides a critical second route for traffic out to Coral Bay. We’re committed to ensuring connectivity for the entirety of the island and creating this redundancy will help us to get Coral Bay back online much more quickly even in another cat 5+ type event. We also expect that this link will increase the efficiency of the network and allow us to deliver better service to all.

Community support makes our work possible. Huge thanks to Island Solar VI for their help reinforcing our solar installation to stand up to anything “BOLTS NOT CLIPS” and to Wharfside Watersports for generously providing transportation.
